List and CSV help

Paste two spreadsheet columns, or import a CSV with a word,clue header. If a word contains a comma, put quotes around the whole word. Commas in clues are fine. CSV files from Bingo, Flashcards, and Crossword work here. Import adds words to this list. It will stop if one word has two different clues.

How phrases appear in the grid

The grid uses A–Z letters. It removes spaces, punctuation, and accents. For example, check in becomes CHECKIN. The word list keeps the text you entered. Check the finished grid for any words formed by chance.

Select 5–24 words, then make a puzzle.

Use it in a lesson

Use the word list to practise spelling and recognition. Use clues when students already know the words and need to recall their meaning. Ask them to use some of the found words in a sentence after they finish.

The puzzle and PDF are made in your browser. Your words are not sent to ECQ. Download the CSV to keep or change your list later.
