FROM PRACTICE TO A QUICK CHECK
Vocabulary quiz maker
Use your word list to make a printable quiz, with a separate answer key.
1. Add your words
One per line: word, clue. Commas within a clue are fine. You can also paste two spreadsheet columns.
Use the same CSV in our other tools
Use CSV files from our bingo, flashcard, crossword, matching, and word search makers here. Download your list below to use it in those tools too. For spelling tests and writing practice, use the same CSV in our spelling test maker.
Use the columns word, clue. Clues with commas work in quoted CSV cells. In the text box, the first comma separates the word from its clue; any later commas stay in the clue.
A list with words only needs clues before you can make a quiz. For words containing commas, use a quoted CSV file or paste two spreadsheet columns.
Save or reopen the complete quiz
A quiz file keeps settings and edited answer choices. Use CSV when you only need the words and clues for another ECQ tool.
Your work stays in this open page. Download the CSV to keep the words and clues. Quiz answer-choice edits are included in the PDF and .docx file, not the CSV.
2. Set up your quiz
Students choose the word that matches each clue. At least four words are needed.
Paper and writing space
A and B use the same questions and their own keys. Turn on shuffle for different question orders; multiple-choice options change order in B.
Choose a sample or add your own list.
Review questions and answer choices
Alternatives come from your word list. Check that only the marked answer fits each clue. You can edit the clues and alternatives here; use the word list to change a correct answer.
Edits apply to both versions. Remake the PDF after editing.
Your print pages
Student sheets come first. Answer keys follow on separate pages. Print only the student pages for your class.
