About me:

My name is Larry Pitts, I’m an ESL/EFL teacher currently residing with my wonderful wife in Wonju Korea. I’ve been teaching English for around 5 years now. I started out teaching English in Japan fresh out of university, worked there for about one and a half years, and came back to the States. After starting a job in the States, I quickly realized that what I truly wanted to do was teach English overseas. So I packed up my bags and headed to Korea. I’ve been teaching here ever since. I started out at a kids hagwon, then on to an adult hagwon and finally to my current job at Yonsei University. In my classroom I utilize a lot of different strategies and tools to help my students learn. Conversation questions are probably my most often utilized tool though. Very frequently I will use questions to prompt students to produce language points practiced in the book or to engage their interest in a topic in a natural way. I use the conversation questions as a guide, but the trick is to let them have a bit of freedom in how and what they discuss (as long as they do it in English).

On this site I have put all of my discussion questions from the last three years of teaching. I enjoy creating conversation questions, so I will be putting up more every week. If you have any requests for questions, I will be happy to make some for you. Just let me know the topic or grammar focus and I’ll post 10 questions in three days.questions to prompt students to produce language points practiced in the book or to engage their interest in a topic in a natural way. Have fun, don’t hurt people, don’t accept defeat and strive to be happy. -Life Instructions
